So if you are an American happily spending this day munching away on turkey and delicious holiday food, and spending time with your loved ones, then you are obviously are celebrating the wonderful day of Thanksgiving (one of my favorite holidays!). However I feel that everyone, myself included, kind of forgets a big part of this day. After all it is THANKSgiving, not just turkey day. Sure, when we go around the table saying what we're thankful for, we'll say we're thankful for the food, family, and friends, or things along that line. I just wanted to take the time and write it down, what I am especially and extremely thankful for this year.
FAMILY
I am so so lucky to be surrounded by a family, that except for a few relatives, that loves me and supports me through pretty much anything. After all, if I wanted to be a stripper, I'm pretty sure they'd say hell no. We've gone through some extremely hard times together and I wouldn't have it any other way.
FRIENDS
Okay, so I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most social person and that I'm extremely fine spending time by myself, but I truly do love my friends. From the ones that have been there for me for years (Sarah, chica, I'm talking about you and I love and miss you!), to the ones I've recently met and am starting to get to know (heyyy Erica lol), I'm so glad that you're there for me to talk to and pretend like I'm not a loner. Okay, not a total loner
MY LIFE
Okay so I'm gonna be kinda sappy here and just quickly say that I am extremely grateful for the roof over my head, the food I eat, the clothes on my back, and the education I have. Not everyone has these things, and I feel terrible for taking advantage of it all the time.
MILITARY
Being a military brat, I am extremely aware of how under appreciated these men and women, as well as their families, are. They are fighting with their lives for us and our freedom, and I feel that people don't realize that they don't make every executive decision for the military as a whole. People, especially the ignorant generation we have now, think that the military is something to abuse us and that is just wasting our money. They don't think of them as people, as that's what they are. I've heard my dad, a Marine, cry and be afraid. You CANNOT tell me that that isn't human. So THANK YOU SO MUCH to all those who fight for us, their families, and especially those that were unfortunate enough to not make it home, whether they have lost their lives or be prisoners of war. I am truly grateful.
So to keep this from going on much longer, I'm going to stop here. This is one of those days each year where I kind of stop and think, holy sh*t. I'm truly lucky for so many things and I don't even realize it. Well I hope you all had a wonderful day and realize just how blessed we all are for so many things.
Number of times I said extremely- 5
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post! Once again my 'follow this blog' thing isn't working so just send me an email at littlebitrecklessblog@gmail.com if you want to know when I update until it works. I will see you all again very very soon!
